Supporting a Global Brand at The Open Championship

Unique Challenge

A global professional services firm approached us ahead of The Open Championship, having secured a multi-year hospitality package at the event. They needed a reliable shuttle operation to move between 25 and 35 guests and senior executives between their hotel and the course across all four days of the championship, supported by a dedicated on-site coordinator.

With confirmation arriving close to the event, during one of the busiest periods of our year, we needed to mobilise a fleet, a driver team and a coordinator quickly, while working around heavy golf traffic, strict venue access arrangements and daily tunnel crossings across the Mersey.

Solution

We put forward a clear, fixed-price package built around a fleet of four executive Sprinter vehicles, giving the client complete cost certainty from the outset. Once confirmed, our operations team moved straight into planning:

  • Fleet and team: we combined our own Sprinter with vehicles from our trusted partner network and an experienced on-site coordinator, securing capacity without compromising on standards.
  • Accommodation and logistics: we secured driver accommodation with suitable parking for the whole fleet and set up tunnel accounts in advance, so daily crossings ran without delay.
  • Detailed planning: We worked closely with the client and venue teams to plan all transport logistics, access arrangements and guest movements in detail ahead of the championship.
  • Chauffeur briefing: every driver received a comprehensive briefing pack covering vehicle allocations, venue access, hotel details and service expectations.
  • Real-time communication: dedicated client and operations groups kept everyone updated on schedule changes and live traffic throughout the week.

The day before the championship, we met the client on site to walk through the plan, then briefed the drivers in person before they drove the full route together, rehearsing pick-up and drop-off points, parking areas and venue access so the team was fully prepared before the first guest stepped aboard.

Across the four days, we ran staggered morning departures and evening returns, giving guests the flexibility to arrive and leave on their own schedule, alongside a dedicated executive transfer. Our coordinator was at the hotel ahead of each first departure and remained at the course throughout the day to manage collections, with any changes requested during the week handled quickly and smoothly.

Feedback

The operation ran smoothly from start to finish, and the client’s feedback on both our service delivery and communication was extremely positive. They have since asked us to support their programme again next year, and we look forward to helping them welcome even more guests.
