Empowering Voices, Inspiring Change
07/03/2024

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024.

In the traditionally male-dominated realm of chauffeur drive, Little’s Managing Director, Heather Matthews, stands as a beacon of change. Leading with resilience and vision, Heather has appointed four out of six heads of department as women, transforming our workplace into a testament of empowerment. Reflecting on her journey, Heather attributes her success to the incredible women within the business who inspire her daily. “My inspiration comes from the women who work with me” she says. “They are driven, focused, and make the most of every opportunity”. Join us as we celebrate International Women’s Day by honouring the remarkable women of Little’s who shape our present and lead the way toward a more inclusive future.

“We collaborate, support and progress together, and Heather has created an inspiring environment where we work as one.”

Harjeet Kaur – Head of Sales and Marketing

With a rich background in hospitality and travel since the age of 17, Harjeet transitioned from 5-star hotels to the luxury chauffeur drive industry. At Little’s, she values the unique environment led by the daughter of one of the founders, a woman dedicated to the business since 2005.

“I work alongside sensational female leaders who come from many different walks of life and my team in Sales and Marketing consists of 5 women. We collaborate, support and progress together, and Heather has created an inspiring environment where we work as one.”

“I am also a huge advocate of representation for South Asian women in management and senior leadership positions in Scotland, and Little’s is where I have progressed most in my career, following a strong female leader.”

“Each of us brings something different to the table, the roles we have capitalise on our strengths.”

Elaine Osborn – Head of Finance

Originating from a decade-long career at KPMG as a Chartered Accountant, Elaine transitioned into diverse roles, including managing large manufacturing companies and owning a successful retail business for eight years. With a dynamic background, she thrives in change and growth environments.

“Personally, self-improvement and personal growth are very high on my agenda. As growth often comes from change, I very much enjoy the environment at Little’s, the vision we have for the future and the ever-changing nature of the industry we work in.”

“The senior team at Little’s has changed significantly over the last two years as the company re-sets its vision for the future. With 4 of the 6 senior leadership seats currently being held by women, it is a very refreshing and progressive place to work. Each of us brings something different to the table, the roles we have capitalise on our strengths, and we all collaborate extremely well together. Heather’s vision for the future is clear and she trusts that we can help her deliver it.”

“I feel very lucky to return to Little’s as head of a new function; a role that was essentially created for me, and therefore ticks all my boxes!”

Catharine Anderson – Head of Innovation

Our Head of Innovation, Catharine, was Little’s first Sales Manager from 2010 – 2014, and after a period of running her own business, returned to the company in 2021 to head up the newly formed Innovation department.

“I studied Tourism Management and then went on to work in various hospitality roles across the UK and Australia. After moving back to Glasgow, in 2010 I applied for the position as Sales Manager at Little’s, and so my story with the company began.”

“I feel very lucky to return to Little’s as head of a new function; a role that was essentially created for me, and therefore ticks all my boxes! Innovation means many things to different people, but my favourite quote is ‘systemise the predictable, so you can humanise the exceptional’. That is what my team and I do every day, to streamline processes and create building blocks to support the company’s future growth.”

“I have been blessed to work with many incredible female leaders throughout my career.”

Leanne Scobie – Assistant Head of Sales

With a career in hospitality for over 20 years, Leanne has been inspired by many incredible female leaders, each imparting unique lessons and inspiring her in different ways.

“When I moved over to work in chauffeur drive earlier this year, it was important to me that Little’s was steered by a leadership team that consisted of strong women, each who continue to guide me and motivate me.”
