Scottish Summer of Golf 2022

Reading Time: 2 minutes

This summer sees Scotland hosting a number of unmissable golf championships. We are extremely proud of our golfing heritage in this country – indeed, golf famously originated in Scotland with the first recorded game dating back to the 15th century. Scotland has over 550 courses and this year’s tournaments will be showcasing some of the very best of them.

The Genesis Scottish Open 2022 (July 7th – 10th) will take place in the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, East Lothian. It will be a historic event as it is the first year the championship will be co-sanctioned by the European Tour and PGA TOUR.

The Open 2022 (July 10th – 17th) will be celebrating its 150th anniversary by returning to the legendary ‘Home of Golf’, St Andrews, and the championship will take place at the Old Course. Sponsors of the event include Doosan, HSBC, Hugo Boss, Mastercard, Mercedes Benz, Nikon, NTT Data, and Rolex.

Later in July (21st – 24th), Gleneagles will be hosting the 2022 Senior Open Presented by Rolex. This is Europe’s only Senior Major Championship and it will be a significant moment for Gleneagles as it is their first time hosting.

In August, the world’s eyes will once again be on Scotland when the AIG Women’s Open 2022 (August 4th – 7th) takes place, for the first time in its history, in Muirfield in East Lothian. With AIG as the main sponsor, other patrons of this event include Mastercard, Rolex, Suntory Group, and Toyo Tyres.

We hope you are looking forward to this summer of golf as much as we are.
