As we approach our 52nd anniversary, we are looking back on a rollercoaster ride of a year. Here are some of our highlights from 2018.
The start of the year saw us welcome our new Business Development Manager for the UK, Jo Cork. Jo joined us from luxury hospitality industry background. We also welcomed our Night Controller, Marc Bradley, completing our out- of – hours Operations Team.
Our Managing Director Heather, had the opportunity to meet new and existing clients in both Toronto and New York, telling them more about our chauffeur driven transfers and bespoke tours within Scotland and the rest of the UK.
This month, Heather Matthews was shortlisted for the IoD Scotland Family Business Director of the Year. Globally, this month we expanded further into Germany, Australia, Israel and Switzerland.
Little’s sponsored the most ‘stylish night of the year’ – the Scottish Style awards, proudly announcing the Dakota Deluxe as Most Stylish Hotel of the Year. Our chauffeuring team had the opportunity to welcome many VIP guests throughout the evening.
Our Business Development Managers Jo Cork & Harjeet Khun -Khun represented the company at the LCCI PA Club Showcase at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Docklands. This was a great event, allowing the team to share information about our offering with London and globally.
Little’s welcomed their first Mercedes E Class Plug -In Hybrid to the Scottish fleet. This new addition has led to further growth in our hybrid fleet, helping reach the company’s strategic goal of becoming all hybrid or electric by 2025.
Little’s was proudly shortlisted in the Family Business of the Year category at the Family Business United Family Business Awards. This glittering award ceremony was hosted at The May Fair Hotel, London.
This was a non-stop month for the team at Little’s, providing services for The Open, The Scottish Open and various other events internationally.
This month saw one of our chauffeurs undertake our longest tour of the summer. With an itinerary stretching over 13 days and covering the length and breadth of Scotland and its Islands, this bespoke tour was a great testament to Scotland’s growing leisure market.
“My wife and I were very pleased with the service provided by Little’s. The driver, Joe, was not only extremely professional and a skilled driver, but a delightful man with whom we enjoyed conversing and getting some “local color” along the way.”
With London Fashion week kick starting the month, Little’s welcomed a host of VIPs throughout the various events. Meanwhile in Scotland, our Glasgow and Edinburgh teams welcomed the opening of the high anticipated V&A Dundee. Since its opening week, we have noticed a great increase in the amount of corporate and leisure clients travelling to Dundee and surrounding areas.
A charity very close to our hearts is the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, and this month saw Heather, an Ambassador of the charity, attend the opening of its new Hospice in Bellahouston Park. This £21m project is ground-breaking for the city and our team were so proud to have fundraised and played a part in supporting this charity.
Little’s proudly accepted the Convention Edinburgh Award in recognition of 15 years of membership. This partnership allows Little’s to provide chauffeur services for conferences and events that take place throughout Edinburgh. As a family business, we are proud to be the first point of contact, providing a 5-star welcome to delegates as they enter the city.
