As part of the inaugural European Championships, which will be staged every four years, around 3,000 athletes will visit Scotland to compete in six events; aquatics, cycling, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon. The first ever games will be held in 2018 in a unique sporting partnership between Host Cities, Glasgow and Berlin.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is a key partner of the games and will broadcast the event across Europe, hopefully reaching an audience of over 1 billion. The spotlight will once again be on Glasgow, showcasing the city’s world class sports venues alongside Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, which is set to host the diving event.
