We return to the office today after a wonderful evening at The Scottish Style Awards. The event was hosted at the iconic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. There was nothing better than seeing our burgundy fleet drop guests at the grand entrance where they were invited to a Moet & Chandon drinks reception.
We had the honour of transporting nominees who included, Roisin Murphy, John Byrne, and top bloggers Emily Shakarji and John Robertson (The Everyday Man). The host for the evening, actress Pollyanna McIntosh, publicly thanked our chauffeur saying “my driver Ross was absolutely lovely, I wish he was here to celebrate with us.”
After dinner, the awards presentation commenced and as sponsors of The Most Stylish Hotel, our MD, Heather Matthews was delighted to present the award to Dakota Deluxe Glasgow with her co-host Emily Shakarji.
We enjoyed a very memorable runway show by Harris Tweed Hebrides, celebrating their first 10 years. This was followed by Cruise’s spring collection, showcasing Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Vivienne Westwood, Balmain and Tom Ford to name a few.
After a delicious Hennessey cocktail, the three headline awards were announced, with Roisin Murphy recognised as Style Icon, hotelier Ken McCulloch was awarded Very Special Achievement and Rubadub won Tastemaker of the Year. The Most Stylish Male and Female awards were presented to John Byrne and Rachel MacLean.
We would like to thank the Founder, Mary McGowne, for the opportunity to sponsor these awards which are now in their 13th year. It was a pleasure to be involved in this prestigious event.
