Little’s are proud to be supporting the charity Social Bite by entering 6 team members to take part in the Sleep in the Park event on Saturday 9 December 2017. The team will join 9,000 others in Princes Street Gardens, along with some of the world’s biggest artists, to sleep rough in the cold for one night.
Last year Little’s Managing Director, Heather Matthews, took part in Social Bites CEO Sleepout hosted in Charlotte Square, alongside 100 other Scottish business leaders in raising funds to build the Social Bite Village, which provides accommodation made from shipping containers for 20 people living in temporary housing.
By raising funds, the Social Bite charity aims to get to the root issues of homelessness in Scotland with the aim of eradicating it over a 5 year period by providing people with housing, rehabilitation, job opportunities and support to get back on their feet.
Volunteers will be joined on the night by Sir Bob Geldof who will address the audience, Liam Gallagher, Amy Macdonald, Deacon Blue and Frightened Rabbit, who will all perform on the night. Lights out will be at 11pm after a bedtime story from comedy legend John Cleese who will write and perform a bespoke Comedy Bedtime Story.
The Little’s team must raise over £3,000 and are running various charity events on the lead up to the big night.
Charity Car Wash
A Charity Car Wash is planned at both Little’s Glasgow and Edinburgh branches for local residents and passers-by. Which city will take the car washing trophy?
Car Boot Sale
Staff volunteers will man stands at a local car boot sale, selling an array of donated items.
Staff, family and friends will gather for a Race Night which will include some fantastic raffle and auction prizes kindly donated by Little’s clients and the local community.
100 Mile Cycle
Two members of the team taking part in the sleep out, Scott and Lewis, will be going a bit more than the extra mile for the charity by cycling 100 miles, donations can be made via the following link.
We would greatly appreciate your support in helping Little’s reach our£3,100 target. To donate please visit our fundraising page – all donations will be gratefully received.
