As 2017 is well-underway, and as summer is fast approaching, multiple airlines are releasing new destinations they want to take you to this year. Here at Little’s we’ve compiled a list of new flights departing out of London in 2017 as we offer luxury London airport transfers.
New Orleans, Louisiana – From sidewalk bands to lacy balconies and beignet bakers to French creole cooking, Louisiana is a fusion of cultures. The capital city New Orleans, known for its colonial-era French quarter, is world-renowned for its Mardi Gras festival and jazz music. On March 27th, British Airways will release the first direct flight there in 30 years.
Croatia – Encompassing over 1000 islands, the solace of Croatia’s glittering waters and powder-sand beaches is the ideal sun-seekers paradise. Renowned for its roman ruins, roman amphitheatre and national parks, Croatia has something for everyone. As one of Telegraph Travel’s recommendations for 2017, Croatia is set to receive two new routes this year. From 21st of July, British Airways will release a new route to Pula and from the 22nd of July EasyJet will release a route to Dubrovnik.
Santiago, Chile – Coined by Lonely Planet as a “metropolis with a view,” Santiago offers a myriad of attractions from creative districts to the Atacama Desert. As of the 3rd of January this year, the first ever direct flight from Britain to Chile ran from London Gatwick which is allowing Britons to explore Santiago’s dynamic culture.
Granada, Spain – Defined as the “darker, more complicated cousin of sunny exuberant Seville” by lonely planet, the city of Granada is enshrined in medieval history. Whether tourists wish to wander around the palace and gardens at Alhambra, or taking a skiing excursion to Sierra Nevada during winter-time, the allure of Granada to tourists is undeniable. From February 4th of January this year, EasyJet is running a direct flight from London Gatwick to Granada Airport.
Phu Quoc – The appeal of Phu Quoc is incontestable. This island paradise in the gulf of Thailand is renowned for its dusty white beaches, glistening turquoise waters and luxurious resorts which offer scuba-diving and snorkelling. At the beginning of November this year the first direct flight will to Phu Quoc will run from London Gatwick – opening it up to the British traveller.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Once only renowned as a hub for spring-break-seeking college students, Fort Lauderdale has been transformed into a destination for the more mature and sophisticated audience. With its famous for beaches, arts, first-class shopping, eco-tours and Venice-like waterways – this is understandable. On the 26th of July this year the first direct flight to Fort Lauderdale will depart from London Gatwick to allow sun-seeking brits a chance to explore the “Venice of America” for themselves.
As well as these above cities, new flights will also depart to Girona, Stockholm, Oakland and Turin.
