If you are planning a golf trip in 2016, let Little’s assist in creating your perfect itinerary.
Visitors making a pilgrimage to Scotland, the birthplace of golf, will soon have a new course to add to their itinerary, designed by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer in collaboration with Castle Stuart. Set in the stunning surroundings of the Castle Stuart Golf Links near Inverness, the new 18-hole links course will be the first Palmer has designed in Scotland, and will complement the existing course overlooking the iconic Moray Firth. With the Castle Stuart Golf Links set to host the 2016 Scottish Open for the fourth time in six years, Palmer has expressed his admiration for both Castle Stuart and Scotland as a golfing destination, stating: “When it comes to locations we’d like to work, Scotland has always been at the top of our list.”
The course will add to a growing cluster of world-class golf courses set in the North East of Scotland, including the quintessentially Scottish Royal Dornoch, recently described as “the world’s most natural golf course,” and voted the sixth best course in the world. Mesmerising amateurs and professionals alike, both Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart are nestled among backdrops of mountains, glens and valleys and provide some of the best settings for playing the sport.
Castle Stuart also boasts an impressively constructed, Art Deco style clubhouse, towering above the shoreline and showcasing panoramic views, courtesy of the circular drum design. The state-of-the-art facilities work to build on what is already a unique golfing experience, encapsulating both relaxation offered by the clubhouse and truly exhilarating golfing provided by the intricately designed course. With the addition of the new course crafted by one of the world’s most iconic golfers, North East Scotland has truly established itself as a world-leading golf destination.
