World Hepatitis Summit 2015

Little’s Chauffeur Services for Inaugural Summit in Glasgow

This autumn, the SECC will be the host venue of the inaugural World Hepatitis Summit  between 2nd – 3rd September. The Summit is being held to directly address Hepatitis as a global disease which affects millions each year. “400 million people worldwide are living with hepatitis B or C. Every year 1.4 million people die from viral hepatitis and yet all of these deaths could be prevented” The Royal College of Nursing, (2015).

The Summit will provide informative sessions directed by the World Health Organisation  (WHO) to improve and create action plans aiming to explore new ways to raise the profile of this disease internationally. In 2014 the WHO established a global strategy committed to tackling this disease and this year, the Scottish Government supported by the Glasgow Caledonian University and Health Protection Scotland are proud to be partnering with the WHO and World Hepatitis Alliance  (WHA) in bringing this global Summit to Glasgow.
